1/4 C flour
1 t salt
dash pepper
2 lb. beef stew meat, 1" cubes
1/4 C cooking oil
1 C water
1/2 cup catsup
1/4 C brown sugar
1/4 C vinegar
1 T vinegar
1 t salt
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
3 cups peeled carrots, cut in 3/4" pieces on the diagonal
Combine flour, the first t of salt and the pepper. Coat meat with flour. In large skillet, brown the meet on all sides in hot oil. Combine water, catsup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worchestershire sauce and the second t of salt. Stir into browned meat. Add onion. Cover and cook over low heat for 45 min., stirringt once or twice. Add carrots; cover and cook another 45 min. or until meat and carrots are tendet.
