Grandma's Cole Slaw

4 pounds cabbage, shredded very fine

4 ounces pimento, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

1 large onion, chopped

2 cups sugar

 

Pour sugar over the ingredients above until  and let sit until liquid forms.

 

While liquid is forming prepare the following:

1 cup oil

1 cup vinegar cider

2 Tbsp celery seed

1 Tbsp salt

2 Tbsp sugar (more)

 

Bring  to a boil and then pour over the slaw mixture.  Boiling gives a wilted effect.  You can seal it in a jar in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
